We have had a great fall! Mommy finally feels better and we get to go outside so much more than we did this summer. We have loved going to the arboretum, playing outside with friends, and just each other, going to school, and most of all, loved Halloween! I love dressing up everyday in Buzz Lightyear and Batman costumes, so it was fun to have a holiday to dress up for. I taught Charlie (Robin-he really hated wearing the costume) how to trick or treat, along with ALL the other things I teach him every day! Now, we can't wait for Thanksgiving, and Christmas, and all the fun that comes with that.

I took a really fun art class this summer at the science place and learned a whole lot and made lots of super cool things. Here I am, very proud, of my invention that daddy helped make-a giraffe made out of recyclables. What a fun class!

we had two fun trips this summer! we got to see both the beach and the mountains in Galvenston with Grammy and Pops and Colorado with Sittie, and our favorite cousins! Not only did we take fun trips, our summer was interesting b/c my mommy found out she was pregnant in May, i started potty training, and Charlie fell and got stitches at only 13 months old.

These Dallas snow days have been interesting to say the least in our home. After 3 days snowed in last week, Bob became sick with fever for 5 days, and the boys both had ear infections, and then we were snowed in again. We have had a lot of togetherness, and a few accidents-Miles getting his finger slammed in the car door by me, and busting his lip while running around like a crazy person b/c we are cooped up! Who can blame him? It's the most excitement this family has had besides the day we got out this week to take all three boys to the dr, and 200 dollars later, they all had to medicine. Like to snow, and grateful for drs, but please let these last two weeks end! We have managed to have some fun though with odd looking snowmen, sledding on makeshift Christmas Vacation style cookie sheet and Pam, snowball fights, and lots of Daddy time! There has been more wine and tv consumed in this house in the last few weeks-is that a bad thing?

Wow, I recently got a very special treat-I went with daddy to Lake Timado just us two (no mommy or Charlie). He bought me my first fishing pole, and we fished, and rode tractors, explored the woods, and played in nature. What a great day together! I was so proud to be with just daddy and doing manly things. I even brought home some show and tells-a turtle shell, and pine cones. Thanks daddy for a fun adventure.

I love being a cowboy and got to have a fun cowboy day at school recently. My mommy and daddy got me boots and a hat for my birthday that I got to wear to school b/c I get to have a cowboy party for my 3rd birthday this week! Look how happy and grateful I am wearing all new cool gear:

Charlie is really becoming my best friend! I love him so much, but we sure know how to fight like brothers, and are keeping mommy super busy with our little antics. We like to wrestle until Charlie cries, playing hurt and very over dramatic, even if I can be rough with him. He sure knows how to fight back-mommy says he's scrappy. we love to play on my racetrack, and Charlie likes to chase me around the house. He likes doing anything I am doing, even though I am not always a fan. Charlie's really independent, and almost always happy, but je sure can scream and be very loud, especially at meal time. My mom says that's what happens when you are a second kid and don't get as much attention (she says that's why she's so loud:))

this Christmas was so special to have my brother with me, and get to share in all the excitement and joy of the holiday season. We got to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Amends house (hence the matching sweaters), ride on our favorite holiday express train, and most importantly spend quality time with family! We spent some of the time in Austin with cousins Sammers, Ese and Odrew, and they dressed up Charlie one night as none other than Cleopatra (guess it's hard to fight back at 10 months old)

Charlie and I are having so much fun now! We have really started playing together more, and laughing a lot! I love to wrestle him, and tickle him, but always have to be reminded to be more gentle! I'm used to playing with my daddy a little rough. My favorite thing to do is run in his room when he wakes up from his nap, turn his sound machine off, and get in his crib with him. He's pulling up on everything, and crawling everywhere. He laughs at everything I do, and loves to be with me. We're best of friends, even if he does take all my toys and sippy cup, pull my hair, wake me up early and tell on me when I'm too rough!

Happy Halloween everyone! We had so much fun this year, at the Arboretum'sGoblins in the Garden, and then trick or treating and carving pumpkins at home. My favorite thing was handing out candy though b/c I got to eat some of it. Mom and dad thought I was possessed though b/c the sugar made me crazy running around the house and jumping off the walls till 9 pm. I can't wait until next year when Charlie can walk and go trick or treating with me!

Charlie and I had so much last weekend in Austin with our cousins! We stayed at their new house, and played hard all weekend! We set up and jumped on the trampoline the whole weekend, and I was having so much with them, i decided to sleep with cousin Sam. As you can see, we fell sleep talking-probably in mid sentence-hence the half on the bed, half off the bed position I'm in. I love you Ees (Elise), Sammers (Sam), and Odrew (Andrew)!! Also, notice my cute hook em horns hand position I "tried" to learn from Sammers.

My brother is already 6 months, and is getting so fun! He loves to laugh at me, and do everything I'm doing, including playing with ANYthing I have. I am learning to share more with him. and my mom keeps telling me we will be best friends and playing together in no time. Charlie's crawling everywhere now, and I'm the one who got him to do it for the first time. He's chewing on everything, and talking a lot. He bugs me sometimes, but I'm so glad I have my little brother:)

I sure do love eating now, and eat three square meals (if you consider fruit and veggie in a can square:)) like my brother and mommy and daddy. I am constantly reaching for everyone's elses food even though I won't be able to eat any of it for a long time-no teeth in sight! I sure am a joyful boy though, and LOVE to watch my brother, and laugh at him.

I have had 4 ear infections, and 2 ear drum bursts now, so my dr said I had to get tubes in my ears. They put the tubes in last Wed, and I am sleeping better! My mommy sure hopes I won't have any more infections now, and I hope to not have surgery again anytime soon!

This summer has been great! it's my first summer with my baby brother, and we are having a blast trying to stay cool. I've become quite the fearless swimmer, and love any kind of water, and so does Charlie. Here some pics of our summer beating the heat!

We've been swimming every opportunity we can, and one of my favorites was with my daddy for his birthday at Burgers Lake. You can see in the picture that I had so much fun, and played so hard, I fell asleep on the car ride home with my peanut butter sandwich unchewed in my mouth:)

We also went to Austin where we went hiking and swam in a swimming hole. The day was a close second to Burgers Lake!

He laughs and smiles all the time now, and thinks I am so funny! He loves all my kissing, and I sure do kiss him a lot. I sometimes am a little rough, and hurt him without meaning to, but I just love him so much. He loves when we sing and play paddy cakes, but doesn't love me being loud in his ear. My poor brother has had 2 ear infections (just like me-I have had 9!), and an ear drum burst, and bonked his head twice from falls. I think it's hard for mommy to keep up with his both-she never had this much trouble with just me. But, Charlie can handle it b/c it is so laid back and easy! I, on the other hand, can be a handful and am FULL of personality.

I have never officially had my hairs (as I call them) cut, and was afraid it would hurt:) My mommy is so grateful for a place like Snipits that has "Cars" playing, a train table, lollipops, bubbles, and even a prize at the end! Not only did I willingly go, but I even somewhat enjoyed it.

After 2 years and almost 3 months ( a lot of tears and fighting sleep) , I said bye bye to my paci! I had bitten through two in a matter of a couple of weeks, and my mommy said I could get a new toy if I put it in the trash. So, you will no longer see this look on me:)

I finally got my ear wells off that were reshaping my ears! That's the great news, but the sad news is that I already have had my first ear infection, and my ear drum burst on Friday right after getting my new ears-not a good day! see my before and after pics of my cute little "ear muffs" that gave me so much character and had so many people asking questions for my first two months of life. Can you tell that I am a happy boy?

Because my mommy has had to split her time with baby Charlie lately, and since I have never had an ice cream cone, my mommy decided to take my on an ice cream date, just us two. we had so much fun and I felt so special. I got my own cone and got to lick the yummy ice cream, although I was so slow that it melted in the sun! I now have a new treat to ask for, and will do it often:)

My mommy and daddy took Charlie and I to a Day out with Thomas in Grapevine, and I was in train heaven! I got to play at train tables, but more than that I also go to ride a train with Thomas on the front. At first, I was too scared to get on, but I finally did and had fun, even though the scenery was less than beautiful!

Baby Brother is here!

Baby Charlie (Charles Casey) arrived March 1 at 8:53 am and weighed 7 lbs 7 ozs and was 20 inches long! I am such a good big brother and am loving playing with him, and most of all, kissing all over him! It's been fun to have another person in our family, but it's also hard for me to share my attention with mommy and daddy now. All in all though, I can't wait to teach him about trains, playing ball, how to build towers, and run! I love him so much!

I had such a fun birthday-it was pretty different than a normal day b/c our house had no power for 2 days, including the day of my fire station party! We stayed at a friend's house, and I got to wake up on my birthday there, and eat donuts. Finally, our power came on about 3 hours before the party and my mommy cried with relief! Our house was 55 when the power finally came on.

The party was so fun and I think everyone loved the fire station as much as me, even if I was a little scared to get on the fire truck. They did the sirens and blew the horns, and let us pretend to drive. They are such heroes!

I love "No" men (snowmen)! I got to build my first one this season with my daddy and boy did we have fun! My daddy might have been more excited than me! He even made me do a snow angel. How fun that Dallas got 6 inches of snow! My mommy said I've seen more snow in my little life than she has in hers.

My little brother Chahhh-ley is coming so soon! 3 weeks from yesterday to be exact, and I am so ready to see him, and kiss him, and especially teach him about trains! I hope he loves them like I do. Christmas 2009

Wow, this year was so much fun! I am very into choo choo's as I call them, especially Shasham (my way of saying "Thomas", the train-as my speech therapist friend Em, should I be worried?:)), and I got to go see a real one in this man's backyard in Richardson. We went about 3 times this season and ride the choo choo, and it made me fall even more in love with choo choos and Shasam, and his friends that I own, Salty, Duncan and Smudger. I even bring them all with me to bed every night and nap time! Thank you again Pops and Grammy for that!

I also got to go see Santa this year and didn't exactly like him or the idea of a picture with him. So, mommy got to be in the picture and I never smiled for any of the pics! Even though I "got" Christmas this year more than last year, I was still confused about this Santa guy and Jesus and their difference. My mommy mentioned both often, so I would say Bible whether my mom mentioned Santa or Jesus. I still actually call Jesus a baby b/c I don't get that He ever grew up. We will work on it:) Either way, a great and eventful Christmas season!

We got to go visit my cousins Ees, Sammers and Odrew (Elise, Sam, and Andrew) in Austin and had so much fun. I love my cousins and any time I get with them. they have such a fun house and are such fun people!

My favorite Christmas gifts this year were my retro rocket as you can see above, my choo choos and track, my Thomas tunnel/tent, his Dallas cowboys figures, and airplane/airport. I am pretty easy to please, and love my toys!

This was a super fun year for Halloween b/c I actually had opinions about what I wanted to be! I love "shavoys", as I call Cowboys, right now. I loved my attached horsie and especially my Shavoy hat that Pops and Grammy gave me. They had no idea how much use I'd get out of it!

I also got to go visit some older people at a retirement home for Halloween. We all dressed up and brought fun treats to the old people, and they loved us! Who wouldn't?

I also go to see all my Square 1 friends (the friends I have know since I was 3 weeks old), and I went to Northwest Bible's fun festival and played all sorts of games. This was also my fist year trick or treating, and alhough I didn't quite get it, I just followed my older friend Rory to each doorstep, and then mom ate all my candy:) I love my life!

I had a fun day playing at ASU gymnastics with my friends Finley and Kennedy! I jumped on the trampoline, fell in the foam squares, did a somersault, and hung on some bars:) what a fun day, and major workout for my mom ( I don't know who was sweatier-my mom or me)!

Colorado trip

We went on our first family vacation ( and Miles' first airplane trip) to Colorado Springs! Miles was in heaven with 7 adults fussing over him, and all the amazing sights we saw. He is a true mountain man, and made his daddy proud! We got to hike, which Miles loved, but somehow fell asleep during. Miles got to feed chipmunks at a waterhole, play at an old school arcade, enjoy a fun outdoor concert in the rain, see the Olympic training center, see the famous Broadmore hotel and the list goes on!

We got to go to Austin this weekend, and spend time with the whole family-my brothers, and sister in law, mom, and my precious niece and two nephews. As you can imagine, Miles was in heaven with his cousins, and so were we! My sweet photographer brother made this amazing video that makes me cry every time I watch it. My mommy and daddy broke down and took me to the most fun place ever! We went to Chuck E Cheese today and I had so much fun! I played so many games, and even got to see Chuck E himself perform! I loved sitting with daddy and pretending to drive a car, and also loved playing skeeball with him too-really I just loved playing on the machine and throwing the ball everywhere but the right place. It was such a wonderful day! Thanks daddy, for taking the day

off!

Yes, a month after I have written, I have decided to finally get back on with some fun new pics and updates. So, here is what I can do and say right now at 15 months! And by the way, I am so fun at this stage of my life if I do say so myself!

I am talking up a storm, and love to show off! I can now say ball, blocks, mama, dada, dog, truck, cat, bye bye (said with a major Texas accent-"bah"), bump (with an actual hand bump), bicycle ("biyo"), water ("wyo"), and I can make the sounds of a choo choo train, cat meow, doggie ruf, owl hoo, wind blowing, monkey grunt, coyote howl, and a lion roar. I love to give high fives, especially to daddy, and show you my teeth, that I am sleepy by putting my hand on my head, what a hippo does by opening my mouth really wide, and I am so good at pointing out things in my books like any moon, balloon, ball, car, truck, train, dog, cat, and lots more.

my 10 favorite things I like to do at 14 months

1. sweeping with mommy's broom-I have a broom radar and can find that thing no matter where mommy hides it and as you can see, it makes me oh so happy!

2. playing with my blocks-stacking and knocking them over-thanks Jarrett and Blake for those

3. reading my books all day long-go dogs go, the dr seuss abc's, good night moon among many others

4. playing on any playground

5. playing outside

6. my choo choo train-having mommy run it around the house through "tunnels"

7. playing with any friend, or even stranger (I am just a social butterfly)

8. pushing chairs, trucks, wagons, vacuums, anything that moves, around the house

9. playing music with daddy or alone and naked:)

Why do random kids love me?

OK, I won't lie, my child attracts random children who love on him every public place we go-I know it appears that I am bragging, but really it's just a silly fact. Kids love him. We literally walked into a random play area at a local mall the other day and I had no sooner stated this fact to my mom, who had come to witness this, when a sweet little girl and her brother took a "loving" to him. Please see pics for further evidence:) So, as sweet as it sounds and is, it does get to be a bit creepy when random strangers kids are kissing on yours.

I had a very special day on my actual birthday. My daddy took the day off, and we got to ride the dart-I love choo choo trains, and had a fun time riding on my very own train. There sure were a lot of interesting people to watch and scenery to see! When we got home, my daddy let me play in the mud-I love getting so dirty! Thanks for a fun day and being home with me daddy! I love you.

So, I finally made it to one year, and so did mommy and daddy! I think they were more excited than me, and celebrated more than me. I did have so much fun with all my friends and family at my birthday party! My favorite part, as you can clearly see, is the delicious sugary cupcakes I got to have-it was my first taste of sugar, and I didn't hesitate! I am a boy after my mom's heart. I'll never eat another fruit or veggie again:)

Rearranging Furniture

I now have a new interior decorator! Miles LOVES to move around anything that isn't tied down, but he's especially partial to our chairs. He pushes them around all day and I find them in new rooms. I'd say he has a job waiting for him in interior design or construction-he loves nothing more than the challenge of moving something VERY heavy from place to place.

I am so pleased with myself and the new look of the room!

I know it doesn't look like I am having much fun, but I sure enjoyed my mommy's Christmas gift! It's so fun to zoom around in this bike trailer and not have to work at all. I think my mommy almost had a heart attack though trying to lug my 25 lbs and the trailers 25 lbs around up hills. I hope she isn't too discouraged by the hard work so we can go again soon!

I am 11 months now! I love dancing, crawling, throwing all sorts of things all sorts of places, walking with my walker, playing ball with my daddy, sticking out my tongue, reading books (especially those by Sandra Boynton), imitating my mommy when she tells me "no", seeing my daddy when he comes home from work, playing on mommy and daddy's big bed, and I can't forget eating, my favorite past time!

Here are some pictures from my first Christmas! I had a great one, but it was a little different than my mom planned my first Christmas to be. I got sick, and then mom caught it, and we were both sick for two weeks, on Christmas, and New Years Eve. My mom had looked forward to this day for so long, and then she was out of commission for the whole holiday! Oh well. We still had fun opening gifts, and seeing family. These pictures are from our time with my Pops and Grammy, Uncle Cheecho, and Uncle Steve. I sure love making music, and I think my daddy loves that I love it too:)

Okay, so it's hard to tell, but LH got some snow the week before Christmas. Our house didn't get much, but Miles sure thought this cold stuff was pretty amazing! I had to document since us Dallasites may never again see snow, especially so close to Christmas. And yes, he is perched on a baby bjorn b/c his picture happy mom was in a hurry to capture it before he got frustrated and had not other means of keeping his butt dry:)

I met my Uncle Jim last night for the first time! I was so excited to get to meet him and hang out since my mommy and daddy have been talking about him for a long time! Yesterday, we dedicated Miles here in our home with family and our community group. It was such a sweet time surrounded by so many people that love Miles and want to help us raise him to be a Godly boy and man. We are so grateful to have them all in our lives and Miles'.

And so the cycles of life go. On the same day Miles gets his first tooth, his great grandmother, Nana, passed away. She had been sick for awhile, and it was truly a blessing b/c she was ready, but still sad. Nana and Miles were buddies, as you can see from their smiles. Even in the end, she smiled for Miles, and he LOVED his Nana, and smiled a big smile for her too on her last day. We love you Nana and will miss you so much!

I am now crawling. It started as an army crawl and still is sometimes, but I can sometimes get up on my knees and hands and crawl after mommy. I sure can get around much faster this way! It does take a lot of encouragement though to get me going. I would still rather mommy carry me everywhere, but she's not as willing as I wish she would be. Guess I will have to learn to walk pretty soon if I want to get around:)

This is how I fell asleep today b/c I was exhausted! My mom tried to change up my schedule on me, and had me up at 6:30 and I haven't really slept much today b/c I am so thrown off. I was playing in my crib, and the next thing I knew, I woke up in this weird position. I didn't even try to lay down-just fell forward with legs in front of me and all. Didn't know I was that tired! Hope I sleep well tonight.

So, I mean fall is here, and although it's only cooled off a couple of degrees, I will take it! Here are some pics of our serious Miles, who apparently doesn't like to smile, but sure enjoyed the pumpkins, and his friend Travis Wakefield!

The other meaning of the title is that Miles had his first fall this weekend-it was rough! I really was afraid someone would call CPS on me too b/c of course it was in public with tons of non parents looking at me as if I was the worst kind! Why couldn't his first big fall be here at home-ugh! He's so fine though and big fall to me means he cried hard for a minute, not, we took him to the emergency room or anything. The only evidence was a bruise for maybe 2 days:) I felt like a child abuser!

So, it's a long video, but quite funny to us proud parents. I must also note that this is right when we decided the crib should move down a notch, and I will say that not 3 days later we moved it even further down to the very bottom notch b/c we were frightened he would eventually hurl himself out of the crib. We had to document his new standing, pulling up, and sitting on his own, not to mention his lack of desire to sleep. These are the new adventures of our son entertaining himself and us, and entertain he does. Please pay close attention to the proud look on his face. I have a bad feeling about my upcoming busyness with him! I am sure this is not nearly as funny to anyone else watching, but please humor us, and at least fast forward to the end where he catches us and doesn't like it one bit.

Yes that's right, we went stroller roller skating! Never heard of it? Yeah, me either, but thank you Becky Fenn for the wonderful introduction! Wow, it was WT to say the least, and quite a sweaty and strenuous adventure! From the ceiling streamers and DJ booth, to the hard core middle age people skating to John Mayor, it was all I remember from the 80's!!! We went with our friends, Suz, and her little ones, Ben, Drew, Ethan and sweet Savannah. Miles loved to watch the 4 of them in their cool monster stroller ride around the rink! I must admit, I think I may be sore tomorrow. Pay close attention to the pics and the great carpeting at the rink-if you close your eyes, you might just hear Paula Abdul's "Straight Up Now Tell Me", and smell that smoke machine smoke!

I love eating! I get that from my mom and dad! I would eat all day if I could, and it doesn't even matter if my food is bland and gives me poopy issues! I love rice cereal, and sweet potatoes, but will try carrots for the first time tomorrow! I LOVE bouncing in my bouncer or standing and bouncing holding on to mom or dad's hands. I sit up very well, and plan to give my mom a run for her money soon b/c I am really thinking about crawling. My dad put up a swing for me outside and if you are a neighbor, you see us out there at least twice a day-I love it, but I think mom loves it for sanity reasons. She seems to get bored in the house:) I put everything in sight in my mouth, including my mom's toes (if she humors me and lets me). I must take after my dad b/c I love to grab and reach for the remotes in the house. Bath time and night time is my favorite thing now. I reach for the crib at night-that, my mom says, I get from her! It's become kind of laughable about how little I enjoy nurseries-I love to get my mom called to come pick me up-at church, bible study, the gym, you name it, I love her to come pick me up before it's time for me to get picked up! It's been a fun summer for me b/c I have hung out in pools a lot, and really like the water. I like it so much my mom and dad let us be white trash with a baby pool in our yard. When I am happy, I squeal really high and sound like a girl, to which my dad encourages me to take down an octave or two. This is a fun time in my life, and I can't wait for all my new discoveries to come.

OK, so, I have been trying to figure out this whole blog thing for months, since before Miles was born, hoping to do it. Obviously, 9 months later, I am still no further than I was when I started. Really I am just doing this for the pictures and b/c my friend Melissa has forced me into it and sat patiently with me to TRY (and I say try b/c I am still having issues figuring out how to upload pics) to put it together.
